Aikikai Hombu Dojo represents the headquarters of the Aikikai Foundation in Tokyo, Japan. Here, Aikido, in the way of the founder Morihei Ueshiba, is still taught to this day. Hombu Dojo (official name: Koeki Zaidan Hojin Aikikai Aikido Dojo) is still owned by the Ueshiba family and located at the same address where Morihei Ueshiba opened the Kobukan Dojo in 1931. In 1967, however, the original wooden building was replaced by a five-story concrete structure.

There are currently more than 30 instructors, in addition to the grandson of the founder, Moriteru Ueshiba, teaching at Hombu Dojo. Meanwhile, Aikido has established itself in over 140 countries throughout the world.

KenBuKai e.V. has been officially recognized by Hombu Dojo in 2014 as an Aikido association in Germany which teaches and trains in the art of Aikido according to the rules and regulations of the Aikido Foundation as well as the principles of its founder, Morihei Ueshiba.
