The Kenbukai e.V. is a non-profit association for the promotion of sports and traditional Japanese arts as well as German-Japanese cultural exchange.

KenBuKai e.V. has been given official Aikikai Hombu Dojo recognition (in accordance with the International Regulations of Aikido World Headquarters).

The aim of the association is the promotion and dissemination of Aikido in the tradition of Aikikai Hombu Dojo. Particular consideration is given to the aspect of health and energy.

The KenBuKai e.V. was registered on 21 September 2005 at the district court of Munich under the number 19088. The current statute can be downloaded here as a PDF file (German version). KenBuKai e.V. has full and supporting members. Ordinary members of the association are the founding members Walter Ecker, Martin Gruber, Klaus Hagedorn, Andreas Hendrich, Michael Ibers and Thomas Witty. Their task is the organizational and commercial management of the association as well as the technical support of the dojos, clubs and training groups affiliated with the sponsoring members and the organization of courses.

The natural persons registered with the sponsoring members are listed in the KenBukai e.V. Only persons registered in the KenBuKai e.V. are admitted to the Aikido Kyu and Dan examinations of the association.
