The founder O-Sensei Morihei Ueshiba developed his martial arts from various traditional budo disciplines and sword schools and gave it it’s name “Aikido”. The characters used for this purpose mean Ai 合 = harmony, Ki 気 = universal energy and Do 道 = way.

A special feature of this martial art is the philosophy of non-fighting and the use of natural energy. Aikido uses the power of the attacker to dissuade him from his violent intentions. The technique includes leverage and throwing techniques as well as sword and stick (Jo) exercises. Training is mostly done in partner exercises in which the roles are alternately distributed to attackers (Uke) and attacked (Tori). Both sides actively react to the events and movements of the partner by absorbing and continuing their energy. In Aikido, there are no competitions. Essential is the common learning and practicing.

The KenBuKai e.V. is in the direct tradition of the Aikikai Hombu Dojo and its teacher Watanabe Nobuyuki Shihan. All aikido teachers of KenBuKai e.V. get their education in this traditional school.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_section][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″]

#ut_header_6a147e22d39bc h2.section-title, #ut_header_6a147e22d39bc h2.section-title span { color:#ffffff;
